Automation Services
Efficiently manage and control a growing number of controllable energy assets in households with optimal settings for your customer
Add active control capabilities acting
on behalf your customer
While systems such as PV installations or smart meters primarily deliver data, controllable assets such as electric vehicles (EVs), heat pumps, battery storage systems can be actively influenced – for example through mode switching, delayed control, or source shifting (e.g., solar vs. grid power). Based on the MOOST Profiling Service, energy assets are managed intelligently and automatically – demand-oriented, transparent, and traceable. All devices’ controls are enacted by your home energy management system, enriched with behaviour based optimization powered by MOOST.
Core Features
Smart Control Commands
Automatic device control based on usage behavior and household preferences.
Rule Engine
Control logic based on profiling rules, usable independently or in combination with the Engagement module.
Schedule Control
Planning of optimal energy use for the next 24 hours – e.g., when an EV should charge or when the heat pump should activate.
Asset-Level Resource Planning
Use of energy forecasts (solar, grid, pricing) for proactive optimization.
Ad-hoc Control via Command Engine
Direct interventions possible, such as charging interruptions, mode switching, or smart toggling – with full logging and rollback to original settings (e.g., from "Fast Charge" back to "Smart Charge").

Your Benefits
Control at the Push of a Button
Use MOOST’s Command Engine to target and influence energy assets – either ad-hoc or scheduled.
Profile-Based Behavior
Understand the intended control of the household – what the user really wants – and support them accordingly.
Scalability
Suitable for pilot projects and large-scale rollouts (from 100 to 1 million households).
Transparent Feedback
Every control command can be communicated and reversed if needed – via the Engagement module or API.
Modularity
Automation works independently of the Engagement Service – but is especially powerful when combined.
Automation
Example Use Cases
EV Charging Optimization
Switch from smart to fast charging when needed (e.g., user wants to leave spontaneously), with automatic return to the original setting.

7 days ago you have set your charging mode to “Fast Charging”. Since then, you have charged 3 times without optimization. We have now reactivated Smart Charging for you.

Your car is charged at 71%. We paused charging, as we forecast sufficient capacity from your PV system in 1 hour to complete charging with solar.
Solar-Based Control
Ad-hoc charging pause when grid electricity is currently in use but excess solar power is expected in an hour – including household notification.
Heat Pump and Battery Storage Optimization
Control based on tariff times, weather forecasts, and user preferences.

Your battery is at 71%. We paused charging, as we expect sufficient capacity from your PV system in 1 hour to complete charging with solar.
